Click Image to Enlarge Match descriptions with a point. Match the descriptions below with a point given in the list on the right by typing its letter in the box provided. SEE MORE 2. General Coordinates Game. ![]()
Click Image to Enlarge Investigate the Cartesian coordinate system through identifying the coordinates of points, or requesting that a particular point be plotted. This activity allows the user to plot points on the coordinate plane and to read the coordinates of a point plotted by the computer. SEE MORE 3. Graphing Equations and Inequalities Unit Quiz. ![]()
Click Image to Enlarge Check your understanding with this eight question quiz. Are these statements true or false? SEE MORE 4. Graphing Linear Equations. ![]()
Click Image to Enlarge Learn and practice graphing linear equation. SEE MORE 5. Graphing Ordered Pairs. ![]()
Click Image to Enlarge Lesson with interactive practice on graphing and locating ordered pairs on a grid. Ordered pairs are useful in representing relationships between two sets of data, in the form of a graph. These can then be represented by points on a grid known as the Cartesian Coordinate System in 2-D. SEE MORE 6. Greg's Grid Graphs. ![]()
Click Image to Enlarge Help Greg and his family plan their visit to the museum. "Greg went to the Museum of Transportation to see the different types of transportation used today. He was given a map to help him find his way around. Let̢۪s see if you can help Greg and his family plan their visit to the museum." SEE MORE 7. Maze Game. ![]()
Click Image to Enlarge Use your knowledge of points on a plane to move a robot to the target, while avoiding mines. "This activity allows the user to practice their point plotting skills by having them move a robot through a mine field to a target location. Moves are accomplished by specifying the coordinates of the new location. In order to win, the path must not cross a mine." SEE MORE 8. Ordered Simple Plot. ![]()
Click Image to Enlarge Input a series of (x,y) ordered pairs and plot them in the order the pairs are inputted, either connected or as unconnected data points. "This applet allows the user to input a series of (x,y) ordered pairs and plot them in the order the pairs are inputted. This allows the user to plot points so they are not necessarily a function. For inputting ordered pairs and graphing those pairs from the smallest x value to the largest, use Simple Plot. Parameters such as minimum and maximum x value, minimum and maximum y value, and x- and y-scale can be set by the user or determined by the applet." SEE MORE 9. Simple Coordinates Game. ![]()
Click Image to Enlarge Investigate the first quadrant of the Cartesian coordinate system through identifying the coordinates of points, or requesting that a particular point be plotted. "This activity allows the user to plot points on the coordinate plane and to read the coordinates of a point plotted by the computer." SEE MORE 10. Simple Maze Game. ![]()
Click Image to Enlarge Investigate the first Quadrant of the Cartesian coordinate system by directing a robot through a mine field laid out on the plane. "This game allows users to practice their point plotting skills by having them move a robot through a mine field to a target location. Moves are accomplished by specifying the coordinates of the new location. In order to win, the path must not cross a mine." SEE MORE 11. Slope and y-intercept. ![]()
Click Image to Enlarge Practice finding the slope or values of slope and y-intercept. SEE MORE 12. Spy Guys Interactive - Using Ordered Pairs. ![]()
Click Image to Enlarge Watch the video and respond at various places in Lesson 18. This is an interactive lesson and exercise. This would be a great activity to use on your Interactive White Board. SEE MORE 13. Stock the Shelves. ![]()
Click Image to Enlarge You have two minutes to put the soda bottles in their correct places on the coordinate plane. "Stock the Shelves is a fun way for students to reinforce their skills in using a coordinate plane. The game does require students to understand negative numbers in a coordinate plane as well as positive numbers. The idea is to help a store clerk "stock the shelves" with drinks such as soda and chocolate milk before customers arrive. Each bottle must be positioned in its exact location. Students have two minutes to position all 20 bottles." SEE MORE 14. The Coordinate Plane. ![]()
Click Image to Enlarge In this unit you can review/learn about equations in two variables. Workout gives students the opportunity to practice the skill. SEE MORE 15. What's the Point? ![]()
Click Image to Enlarge Play a coordinate plane game from Funbrain.com. (use the hardest level). Test your graph reading skills with this game that is sure to challenge you. SEE MORE
